We’ve selected the top 10 instagrammable places in London with the exact positions on the map and the best time of the day for your shots. As one of the most fascinating and insta-worthy cities in Europe and the world, London is full of amazing places and secret corners to capture as you can see from the photos on our Instagram page.
#1 Tower Bridge
If you want a London postcard, take your photo there. Tower Bridge is one of the most photographed spots in London. Moreover, it is perfect as a background or as the protagonist in your shot. We prefer to capture the bridge by walking from the south bank of the Thames. In addition, it’s just as nice to take photos walking near the blue railing crossing on the bridge. Best time: there is no better time. There is plenty of space at any time of day to take your photos, even if there are always lots of people around. To get a better light and fewer people try to go there at sunrise or at least early in the morning.
#2 London Eye
Defined as one of the most iconic attractions in London, the London Eye is certainly an insta-spot that you should not miss! You can take your photos from different perspectives such as the other side of the Thames and from your hotel room. Discover a dreamy view of the London Eye from one of the suites at the London Marriott Hotel County Hall. We were taken away by it during our stay in this historical luxury hotel. Best time: during the day/night or at sunrise for the best shot.
#3 Peggy Porschen
Loved by Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Moss, Peggy Porschen is definitely one of the most quaint and cool cafés in London. Located in Belgravia, (there is another one in Chelsea) it is famous for its pastel pink façade and its floral decorations that often change throughout the year. In recent years its fame has grown thanks to Instagram. Therefore, there is always a queue to try the vast choice of cakes, cookies and teas. Best time: arrive here before it opens at 8:00 am.
#4 Leadenhall Market
From the Victorian age to today, Leadenhall Market really comes to life during the week where office workers and tourists populate this market from 10 in the morning. This market located on Gracechurch Street was used as a set for films like Harry Potter and Tomb Raider. Moreover, it can be a beautiful spot for your photos to be posted on the gram. Best time: if you are looking to get the best photos of the market, you should visit the hall on the weekend, early morning is best.
#5 Regent Street
Regent Street is one of the most important streets in London. Located in the West End, it is famous not only for shopping but also for its fairy Christmas lights. We recommend taking your photos on a central sidewalk of the street or after Picadilly Circus where the street curves to the right. Best time: at night for the Christmas lights and early morning to avoid the crowds – this street is very crowded!
#6 Sky Garden
If you are looking for a special place to see London from above, the Sky Garden is the place for you. It’s a cool-modern skyscraper in the heart of London… and listen up, it’s free! Opened in 2015 and located at 20 Fenchurch Street, the Sky Garden is an amazing botanical garden. It offers uninterrupted 360-degree views across the City of London. In addition, it boasts a unique public space that spans over three floors 160m above the ground. If you can’t wait to capture your best shot at the Sky Garden, we want to tell you just a couple of things: tripods and microphones are not allowed inside and remember to book your ticket well in advance. Best time: in the morning is less crowded and at sunset for the best light.
#7 St.Paul’s Cathedral
The view of St. Paul’s Cathedral from this street between the two glazed buildings is definitely our favourite. Look at the exact position on our map for this spot, when you get there simply enjoy the view and prepare your camera. But pay attention to one thing: even there tripods are not allowed, unfortunately. Best time: this place is not very crowded, so you can get your shot at any time of the day. However, our advice is to always get there as early as you can if you want to be sure to have the place to yourself.
#8 Bywater Street
Another instagram-worthy location in London is Bywater Street with all its pastel-coloured houses in the vibrant Chelsea neighbourhood. You’ll find many other similar streets in Notting Hill but for us, this is the prettiest and definitely worth a visit. When you go to take your photos there, keep in mind that people live in those houses. Therefore, you must always respect their privacy, so be quick and do not disturb. Best time: this street is quiet and the last time we were there, there were only three girls taking pictures and it was noon.
#9 Notting Hill
Well-known London neighbourhood, location of many films in the nineties, Notting Hill is a firm favourite with influencer’s Instagram accounts. From the world’s largest antiquity market, the Portobello Road Market to pastel houses and whimsical cafes, this place is full of Instagram-worthy locations such as Ladbroke Gardens, Colville Terrace, Westbourne Park Road, 27 St Lukes Mews, Lancaster Road. Best time: walking through these streets in the early morning could be the best choice.
#10 Millennium Bridge
Do you remember this bridge in one of the Harry Potter films? This bridge is a creative collaboration between architecture, art and engineering. Moreover, it is a perfect spot to enhance your Instagram feed! From the centre of the bridge, you can enjoy a beautiful view of St. Paul’s Cathedral and on the opposite side is the Tate Museum. Best time: early in the morning because this bridge is always very crowded.
