So we immediately fell in love with the Ville Lumière. Moreover, it’s a city full of stunning spots for your photos to be proudly shown to friends and family when you return home.

#1 Trocadéro

The best view of the Eiffel Tower is here as a result everywhere is picture-perfect at the Trocadéro. Therefore, you can take spectacular photos with the Iron Lady in the background from various perspectives. Starting from Trocadéro Square (also called Esplanade du Trocadéro), going down the stairs to the insta-famous carousel near Avenue des Nation Unies. Best time: this place is overcrowded during the day. So come to sunrise if you want to get your best shots. For this reason, we arrived at the Trocadéro around 6:30 am in May and there were already 20-30 people in the area taking pictures!

#3 Musée du Louvre

From the outside, the Pyramide du Louvre is truly incredible and every time we visit this place we understand why. Completed in 1989, it has become a landmark of the city of Paris. Moreover, for every Instagrammer or photographer in general, every corner of the Pyramid is picture-perfect. Best time: the whole area around the museum entrance is super crowded from the morning when it opens in the late afternoon after closing. Last time we arrived around 7:30 am and there were only a few people and we had no problems.

#4 Palais Royal

Les Deux Plateaux, also known as Les Colonnes de Buren, is one of the fanciest places in Paris. It was created in the inner courtyard of the Palais Royal in 1986 with its 260 white and black striped columns of Carrara marble. In addition to being a precious spot photographic, this place is often a playground for children who run between the columns. Best time: the area is uncrowded, so you can take your photo at all hours of the day.

#5 Arc de Triomphe

Walking along the famous luxury shopping street Avenue des Champs-Élysées to Place Charles de Gaulle you’ll find the Arc de Triomphe, another iconic landmark of the Ville Lumière. You can take photos of the arch from all sides. However, our favourite is definitely on the sidewalk between Avenue de Friedland and Avenue des Champs-Élysées. Best time: this place is super busy and crowded during the day. Therefore, sunrise is the best time for your shot.

#6 Le Consulat

Not only a historic café in the heart of Montmartre. In fact, Le Consulat Café in recent years has also become one of the most instagrammable places in the whole area. This café-restaurant is located on Rue Norvins, just a few steps from the Basilique du Sacré Cœur. Moreover, it was visited in the 19th century many times by famous artists such as Van Gogh, Picasso and Monet. Best time: this corner usually gets crowded after 10 am. So to get the best photo of the café make sure to visit early in the morning.

Who has never heard of the Moulin Rouge? Another landmark of Paris is located in the famous red-light district of Pigalle, 18th arrondissement, the birthplace of the can-can dance, today the Moulin Rouge is an attraction for many tourists thanks to the rich offer of entertainment and dance shows. The red of its facade is perfect for giving a vivid touch to your photos. Best time: we failed our shot around noon because a truck was parked right in front of the theatre so we returned at sunset and we had no problems.

The Musée d’Orsay is located in the old railway station inaugurated in 1900, later transformed into a museum, which was inaugurated in 1986. It collects impressionist and post-impressionist paintings, as well as a large collection of sculptures and decorative art objects by artists such as Renoir, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Monet and Gauguin. For your perfect photo, look for the clock on the top floor, it’s a really fascinating spot. Best time: head to the clock as soon as the museum opens to avoid crowds.

#9 Opéra Garnier

Opened in 1875, the Opéra Garnier is a theatre of exceptional grandeur, located in the 9th arrondissement. The interior looks like the Versailles Hall of Mirrors and both the central staircase and the foyer are truly stunning. We waited patiently to get our perfect shot because the rooms are often crowded with tourists. Best time: Try to be the first at opening hours and head straight for the photos if you want no one around you.

#10 Pigalle Basketball

Outside the typically Parisian schemes, there is the most photographed coloured basketball court in Paris. This court is nestled between the buildings of Pigalle, in Rue Duperré. The end result is a mix of creativity and bright colours, totally insta-worthy. But remember: this is a basketball court with athletes and friends playing, and it’s not your photo set. So be respectful and ask for permission to take your photos there. Best time: there is no better time; you have to check the opening hours of the court.
